The list below gives a selection of places to visit within a 45 minute drive.



Lymington - Stroll down the high street to the cobbled quay. Plenty of specialist shops and eating places to enjoy. The Saturday morning market is a highlight of the week with traditional items and old fashioned real market items.

Beaulieu - most famous for its car museum and boat and car jumbles.

Bournemouth - all the fun of the seaside with its theatres and shows.

Bucklers Hard - here was the ship building for Nelson's ships.

Christchurch - delightful market town with lovely Priory and riverside walks.

Hengistbury Head and Mudeford- wonderful walks and views across the sea and river.

Isle of Wight - ferries leave every 30 mins in the summer for the 30 minute trip across to Yarmouth.  Go as a foot passenger and enjoy the island by bus. Take your bike or car across and explore the stunning bays and beautiful scenery.
 
Osbourne House is a must for history and garden lovers. Visit and see why Queen Victoria loved the Isle of Wight so much.

Portsmouth -   historic dockyard, HMS Victory HMS Warrior.

Salisbury - cathedral and with a visit to the ancient stones of Stonehenge a must.
Southampton – home of the cruise ships and the Boat Show
Winchester – cathedral and attractive shopping centre

Gardens to visit

Exbury with its wonderful show of rhododendrons and camellias.

Spinners, Apple Court and Furzey  are both ideal places to buy that something special for the garden.

Hillier Arboretum in Romsey wonderful vista throughout the seasons.

Mottisfont Abbey with beautiful roses in June.

Compton Acres with 10acres of garden overlooking Poole Harbour.

Sticky Wicket a truly nature lovers garden.
